If you think it's about time I fixed this site...you are RIGHT!!
and this is how I feel about it
Well I finally got my website fixed. The links work, the pictures are where they belong, the gallery is functioning. Amazing. I spent I don't know how many hours trying to fix this, reading countless forums, playing with code, getting Neil to write me stuff. And playing with code was just that. Basically it was like a small child poking a puppy with a stick, who had just been hit by a car. "If only I keep poking, my puppy will come back to life." I really don't know what I'm doing with PHP.
In the end, my problem was the result of PHP changing a default security option from "on" to "off" with the last upgrade. Not only did this break my site, but also the gallery. I went to bed last night with my links fixed thinking I would still have to upgrade my gallery. The first thing that crossed my mind this morning when the alarm went off was "What if this also fixes my gallery!" Well it pretty much did. This was the reason why the gallery was originally broken. However, since I had tried an upgrade to the new version of gallery I had to go back and fix some of the configuration settings that got changed from the upgrade.
So it is all good now. Also, I see that ace-host has changed my disk storage space to "unlimited." What a nice thing of them to do. And also, I must give them props because a ticket I submited about the security setting was returned to me with the winning combination to let me out of my own private hell. I mean they told me how to fix the site...
And this is one last thing to troubleshoot. Lately I have been spending 10 hours a day at work struggling to troubleshoot an unstable environment only to come back here and try to fix this. I guess I must like computers. Somehow things always work out for me though. Unless the things include a vagina. Then we can begin making comparisions to the dead puppy again...
